Squats are a fundamental exercise for lower-body strength and muscle development. This movement engages multiple large muscle groups simultaneously, leading to increased calorie burn and improved muscle tone in areas such as the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, lower back, and core.

How To Do It:

  1. Place a barbell at shoulder level on a squat rack, with safety pins set just above waist level if possible.

  2. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.

  3. Take hold of the barbell on your upper back with a comfortable grip.

  4. Engage your core and lower down slowly, ensuring your knees track over your toes and pushing through the full foot.

  5. When your thighs are parallel to the ground or as far as you can comfortably go, return to the starting position.

  6. Repeat for the target number of repetitions.
